Three beautiful lidded baskets hand woven in the tradition of the Maine woodsmen, Shakers, and Native American basketmakers of brown ash.
The Covered Swing Handle Basket is finely handwoven with a star pattern in the center formed with the spokes of the weave. It has a kickup bottom and a bent loop swing handle on which the captured lid slides.
The Feather Basket design with captured lid is based on one that the Shakers and early settlers used to keep feathers and down from blowing away when plucking ducks and geese.
The Sewing Basket features an inset tray with a quadrifoil weave. It is accompanied with a Shaker pincushion filled with sheep's wool and covered with velvet.
